I’m so happy to be at Ogden Prep! A little about me.  I’m married to a man I adore and I have five children, one daughter in law and one cute grandson.  My family means the world to me! I enjoy hiking the Uintah Mountains, swimming and gardening.  I love working here at OPA and see kids blossom as they learn.

2nd Grade TA: Special Education

Heather Hughes

I was born in Hawaii, but spent the greater part of my childhood here in Ogden, Utah.  My teen years were mostly spent in California and Belgium, but I returned to Ogden for my senior year at Ben Lomond  High School.  I attended Weber State University for 2 years  I am married to Brent Hughes and have 3 daughters that have been students at OPA.  I have enjoyed many years volunteering at OPA, mostly in the Library.  I have always been impressed by the teachers and administrators at OPA because they truly care about the students.  I feel honored to be a TA, and I find great satisfaction working with students here.  I love reading, cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with my family.

I have been married to my best friend for 10 1/2 years and have two children who attend OPA.
In my spare time, I love to camp, ride 4-wheelers, and do crafts. I also enjoy playing the piano.
My favorite place to vacation is Island Park, Idaho
I’m excited to be a part of OPA family.

3rd grade TA: Special Education

Christina Bowden

I grew up in southern Idaho and studied at Utah State University where I received a BS degree in Interior Design.  I then went on to work as a drafter and interior designer for several years in an architectural firm in Salt Lake City.  We moved to Ogden for my husband’s employment, and we have two boys attending OPA.  I started working at OPA as parent volunteer, then as a substitute and now I am a 3rd grade Teaching Assistant.  I am fortunate to work with wonderful people in a great school, and I love seeing the students around me grow and improve!

Teacher.   I started as a substitute teacher at OPA in 2014.  I enjoy camping, skiing, four wheeling, etc., basically anything in the outdoors.  I love being around people and helping others.  I am excited to help these kids learn and grow.

Kathryn Lund

I have been with Opa since 2013. I love working with the 5th and 6th grade staff and students.   I graduated from Weber state university with a bachelor of integrated studies in 2011.  It was difficult for me to find a place that truly appreciated my broad skill set, but since I’ve been at Opa, I’ve felt right at home.
As much as I love Opa, I’ve recently reduced my hours to spend more time with my 2 year old boy and infant son at home.  I enjoy hiking, gardening, and watching Star Wars.

5th & 6th Grade TA

5th & 6th Grade TA

Anne Singleton

I was born and raised in Southern California. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My husband and I moved to Utah in 2001. Our older son attended OPA from 3rd through 9th grade. Our younger son is a Jr. High student here this year.

This is my fourth year as a Teaching Assistant at OPA. Leading the Imagine Learning program for our 1st – 6th grade English Language Learners the previous two years was both fun and rewarding! This year, I am assisting the 5th Grade Teachers in Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies.
