Ms. Thayne
Kindergarten

Mrs. Thayne was born in Utah. She has had many diverse experiences in the adventure of learning the art and science of teaching. She has studied education at many different levels in a variety of settings including: The University of Utah, Salt Lake Community College, Westminster and Weber State University. She is currently completing a Master’s in Education and a Reading Endorsement.

Her journey of teaching has also been diverse. She started with Ogden City School District as a Resource Teacher for K-5. Next, she worked for Granite School District in their Home and Hospital program. She taught junior high and high school students who were unable to attend school due to major illnesses, injuries or other circumstances.

At the request of several friends, she began her own preschool. This lead to a season of being the Toddler Time Developer and Coordinator for the Treehouse Children’s Museum. She took a few years off to focus on her family then jumped back into teaching in a private school. There she taught 4th grade, junior high English, study skills and science. She assisted in a high school special education program as well.

Here at OPA/MOPA she has had the tremendous joy of teaching 1st and second grades, middle school language arts, and kindergarten.

People often ask what her favorite grade is. Her answer?

“All of them! Every student and family I have ever had the privilege of learning with has brought richness to my life and I’m grateful for each one”.
