Art Specialist

Hello! My name is Meghan McDonald and I am proud to be the OPA Elementary art specialist.

Walnut Creek, California was where I lived when I was an elementary student, but I have also lived in Illinois, Arizona, and now Utah! I have had a special interest in the arts from an early age. I loved to enter my drawings and paintings into school competitions, and I took as many art classes as possible in high school. Art has always had a place in my life, which is why I chose to earn a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Northern Arizona University.

After graduating in 2007 I moved to Ogden, Utah with my husband Mike, and became actively involved in the art community by teaching public oil painting classes, directing children’s summer art clubs, and showing my art in local galleries. Occasionally, you may find some of my paintings still hanging around our Historic 25th Street shops. It is my love of sharing art with our community and teaching art to youth after graduating that has now driven me to work on a Masters in Education at Weber State University.
