A Note to Parents

At each of the Open Houses the Parent Organization will be recruiting parents to help out with different school related activities so you can meet the expect 30 hours of volunteer time. We need your help to make our school the best it can be. Parental involvement is critical to student success. Give your time as generously as you can.

We look forward to another great year at OPA!

OPA Ranks as one of Utah's High Performing Title 1 Schools!

I am very proud to announce that the Utah State Office of Education has designated OPA as one of Utah’s High Performing Title 1 schools.

This accolade is based on:
a. student scores from the End of Level tests given last spring,
b. continued Adequate Yearly Progress,
c. significantly closing the achievement gap for disaggregated groups.

We will receive formal recognition after October 22nd.

Math Competition Ranks OPA On Top!

Kudos to OPA! The American Math Competition for middle school recognizes top schools in the summary of results they publish each year. The top 1% are categorized as Honor Roll and the top 2% - 5% as Merit Roll. These percentages apply nationally.

The competitions were held in November. In Utah the only school to achieve Honor Roll was West High. The schools receiving Merit Roll recognition were: Ogden Prep Middle School, Timberline Middle School, Hawthorne Middle School, Centennial Middle School, Mt. Logan Middle School, and Rowland Hall Middle School.

We the People Bookshelf Awarded to OPA!

Our school libraries were chosen as one of 3,000 libraries around the country to receive the We the People "Created Equal" Bookshelf! The following website contains information about the books and resources that will be donated to our libraries.
